Good morning Recessionistas everywhere! I'm getting caffeinated this am with some super strong Java to get ready to join the line over at H&M Los Angeles. As I wipe the sleep from my eyes, I'm checking the blogs & Twitter to see what the buzz is around the world. I understand lines are already around the block in NY's Herald Square. The line is also long at the 5th Ave. Flagship.
A check of the London papers shows that the crowds formed at 6 am for the 9 am store opening. Both men & women lined up for the CDG stuff, and of course in Europe its already gone. If you're reading the blog from Europe today, and you went to an H&M , please write in with a report. Even though the morning news says this could be the worst Christmas ever, shoppers lined up all over Europe this morning and Asia early this week for the H&M collection.
Here in Los Angeles, I understand the line is forming at 7 am outside the Beverly Center store on the San Vincente side . As I drink my coffee, I have to ask myself, "Will this be worth it?" I honestly don't know. I don't own any of the CDG line. I own almost all of last year's H&M Victor & Rolf collection, and I love it. Every piece I bought is perfection. I was also able to pick up most of the Stella McCartney stuff via eBay and friends in the UK who lined up for it. That collection is also wonderful, and I wear the jackets all the time. So, off I go.
Check the blog later for a full update on the collection and the mosh pit!
One nice thing I have to look forward to after standing in line for a few hours are some specials from our friends at Aveda. Aveda has stores all of the US. They are offering some specials that I am passing along, as today is a day when Recessionistas may need some pampering after the power shoppping at H&M.
In New York, Aveda's West Broadway location is now offering a Green Science Skin-Renewing Hand Treatment as a complimentary service at the salon
Free makeup application at the New York Aveda Institute for a limited time! (until Nov 14.) And finally, step into any Aveda Experience Center for a complimentary in-store service—with or without a product purchase.
So after I wait in line for several hours, I'll probably mosy over to the Aveda store in the Beverly Center for some relief. If there is an Aveda near you, you may want to do the same!
