Delta's 2012 Winter Sale & Social Media Contests Offer Savings on Travel

As travel costs skyrocket over this holiday season while temperatures drop, I thought it might be a good time to let you all know about a Winter Travel sale that Delta Airlines is having.  For the next few weeks, they are offering travel discounts plus several social media contests that I know some of you will want to get involved in.  Here are the details.

Delta Airlines is offering a Winter Sale  that applies to travel booked between now and December 15, for travel dates between January 1 and April 30, 2012. If you're traveling for Christmas, New Year', a Winter Getaway or planning a s Spring Break you might want to check this out. The sale includes:

•    $150 OFF flight and hotel vacation of 5 nights to any hotel and destination we offer in Mexico
•    1,000 extra bonus miles per person
•    4,000 extra bonus miles per person if you choose a Gold or Silver Preferred Pick hotel
•    Combine this offer from a list of specially reduced price hotels for added savings

Get Social with Delta and Win Delta Travel

But Delta is offering more than travel discounts.  They've thrown in some free, which as you all know is a personal favorite of mine here at The Recessionista. Delta has launched a Pinterest Pin to Win Sweepstakes, which runs through December 16.  The airline will be giving away two Delta Vacations travel packages for five nights, worth $3,500 each! I've already pinned on this one, as I have very found memories of a Delta vacation I took to Bermuda with my great Aunts with Delta.  I would love travel with that vacation package again.

If you're a Twitter-holic (like moi) take a look at Delta's Twitter Photo Contest, which runs through December 16. The contest winner will receive a $3,500 vacation package from Delta Vacations, that can be used for travel to Hawaii, Mexico, Costa Rica and the Caribbean!

In addition, each Monday through the Winter Sale, Delta is offering a  Reveal the Deal, where the airline features a different destination that is included in the sale.   Details will be for the related  destination will be shared on Delta's Facebook and Twitter pages throughout the week.
